MCOT services are community-based and available 24 hours per day, every day of the year. The Licensed Clinician utilizes the most effective, least restrictive approaches and evidence-based interventions until the crisis is resolved or the individual is transitioned into a more clinically appropriate environment. Our Vision is Healthy and Fulfilled Lives, and MCOT provides expedited access to care in critical situations as an essential mobile provider of crisis services for children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a behavioral health crisis.

About the Role

The MCOT Licensed Clinician responds to the location of individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis, including schools, emergency rooms, homes, and BTCS clinics, to provide crisis intervention, screening, referral, relapse prevention, and follow-up services. Our Mission is to continuously improve the health and independence of the persons we serve. In addition to ready access to care in times of crisis, MCOT also provides follow-up services which may include case management, individual and group skills training, Person-Centered Recovery Planning, supported housing/employment, discharge planning, and linkage to ongoing services.

Within the crisis continuum, the Licensed Clinician responds when called upon to support emergent and urgent crisis needs. Leveraging skills in de-escalation and safety planning, MCOT works collaboratively with the individual in crisis to assess the need and develop a plan for next steps. As a crisis response team, MCOT collaborates with law enforcement, the medical community, schools, families, and social service agencies, demonstrating strong knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques, and practices of working with individuals experiencing a mental health, substance use, and/or developmental crisis.

The Licensed Clinician may provide services specific to licensure, such as diagnostic evaluation and assessment, brief solution-focused counseling, and clinical consultation to colleagues. The role requires an aptitude for working both independently and collaboratively.
