About the Role

WebstaurantStore is seeking dedicated and hardworking candidates with leadership qualities to join our rotational program designed for those interested in pursuing a leadership career in operations and supply chain management. This 8-week program provides functional, practical knowledge of our supply chain and company goals, offering hands-on experience in various segments of day-to-day operations, including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, inventory control, and returns.

The goal of this position is to prepare you for a leadership role at our McCarran, Nevada, warehouse. Upon successful completion of the program, you will have the opportunity for a leadership position where you will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure higher quality, greater inventory accuracy, and improved service, while motivating employees to meet challenging deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop practical solutions to problems without sacrificing quality.
  • Meet the department’s daily, weekly, and monthly goals of the distribution center.
  • Achieve high performance standards while coaching and training employees on best practices.
  • Analyze opportunities for growth, cutting costs, reducing damages, and improving efficiencies.
  • Continually improve productivity targets and process improvements.
  • Lead employees to fulfill their potential.
  • Provide clear, frequent communication to all teams regarding productivity, company policies, and procedures.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  • Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
  • Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75 lbs.

Experience

  • 1-2 years of leadership experience working with a team of more than 15 employees preferred.
  • Experience working in a distribution environment preferred, but not required.

  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to quickly adapt as business needs change; address difficult situations with diplomacy and emotional intelligence.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to explain technical and complex concepts concisely.
  • Passion for supply chain management and constant process improvement.
  • Demonstrate maturity, responsibility, and leadership ability.
  • Ability to work a full shift, typically 8 to 10 hours.
  • Follow all codes of conduct, safety parameters, productivity, and quality standards, as well as attendance policies.
  • Business proficiency requires the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Working Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Occasional activities may involve exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, as well as dust, fumes, and gases. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, with average and normal passage of employees through the work area.
