1st Shift Leadership Trainee
About the Role
WebstaurantStore is seeking dedicated and hardworking candidates with leadership qualities to join our growing company through a 14-week rotational leadership development program. This program is designed for individuals interested in pursuing a leadership career in operations and supply chain management. You will gain functional and practical knowledge of WebstaurantStore’s goals and initiatives while experiencing each segment of our day-to-day operations, including receiving, picking, packing, consolidating, shipping, inventory control, and returns.
The goal of this position is to prepare you for a leadership role at our Dayton, Nevada warehouse location. Upon successful completion of the program, you will have the opportunity to transition into a leadership position, where you will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure quality and inventory accuracy, and motivate employees to meet challenging deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Develop practical solutions to problems without sacrificing quality
- Meet the department’s daily, weekly, and monthly goals of the distribution center
- Achieve high performance standards while coaching and training employees on best practices
- Analyze opportunities for growth, cost reduction, damage reduction, and efficiency improvements
- Continually improve productivity targets and process enhancements
- Lead employees to fulfill their potential
- Provide clear and frequent communication to all teams on productivity, company policies, and procedures
- Motivate employees to maintain pace with explosive growth while meeting deadlines
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Occasional activities may involve exposure to temperature and humidity changes, dust, fumes, and gases. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, with average employee traffic.
Physical Requirements
- Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day
- Requires effective communication using speech, vision, and hearing
- Requires regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
- Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching
- Requires the ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 75 lbs
Experience
1-2 years of leadership experience working with a team of more than 15 employees is preferred. Experience in a distribution environment is also preferred but not required.
Education
