About the role
The Payroll Specialist supports Vensure Employer Solutions' payroll function for a growing client base. Key responsibilities include day-to-day payroll processing, responding to client inquiries, and collaborating on special projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day payroll processing support for scheduled and off-cycle payrolls.
- Import or manually enter payroll changes (hours, updates, earnings, deductions, and tax overrides).
- Calculate payroll and verify accuracy through control totals and manual reviews.
- Respond to client inquiries via email, cases, and phone.
- Partner with Payroll Supervisors on special projects.
- Manage and support assigned book of business.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year's experience in Customer Service.
- At least one year of payroll experience preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Good time management and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate to advanced analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to partner with cross-functional departments.
Qualifications
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data validation) and Outlook (email management, scheduling).
- Proven ability to exercise good judgment when evaluating situations, identifying problems, and determining appropriate courses of action.
- Proven ability to partner with cross-functional departments including HR, Finance, and Operations to resolve payroll-related issues and ensure accurate, compliant processing.
