About the role

The Payroll Specialist supports Vensure Employer Solutions' payroll function for a growing client base. Key responsibilities include day-to-day payroll processing, responding to client inquiries, and collaborating on special projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day payroll processing support for scheduled and off-cycle payrolls.
  • Import or manually enter payroll changes (hours, updates, earnings, deductions, and tax overrides).
  • Calculate payroll and verify accuracy through control totals and manual reviews.
  • Respond to client inquiries via email, cases, and phone.
  • Partner with Payroll Supervisors on special projects.
  • Manage and support assigned book of business.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year's experience in Customer Service.
  • At least one year of payroll experience preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Good time management and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to partner with cross-functional departments.

Qualifications

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data validation) and Outlook (email management, scheduling).
  • Proven ability to exercise good judgment when evaluating situations, identifying problems, and determining appropriate courses of action.
  • Proven ability to partner with cross-functional departments including HR, Finance, and Operations to resolve payroll-related issues and ensure accurate, compliant processing.
