Responsibilities

• Advocate and support adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities by empowering them to be as active in their lives as they can
• Assist with household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, and other personal care tasks
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments, banking, community outings, and other activities
• Administer medications and follow Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans, and goals
• Follow medical guidelines and safely evacuate individuals from the home in the event of an emergency
• Maintain certifications, handle job duties in compliance with agency policies, and follow all DDS regulations/policies

Requirements

• Must be 21+ with reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to speak, read, and write in fluent English
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the program and individuals supported, which may include holidays, overnights, or double shifts

• Proven record of conscientious, responsible behavior (work, volunteer, or school history)
• Ability to work as a creative, engaged, dedicated member of the team

Training

• Paid New Employee Orientation
• Paid CPR/First Aid, PABC, Defensive Driving, and Medication Administration Program (MAP) certifications
• Program- and person-specific training provided at the individual’s home

Pay

$17.50–$19.00 per hour

Schedule

• Thursday: 10 p.m.–9 a.m.
• Friday & Saturday: 10 p.m.–10 a.m.
• Part-time: 35 hours
