About the role
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a crucial role in supporting adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include household maintenance, meal preparation, shopping, personal hygiene assistance, and more. The DSP also assists with medical appointments, community involvement, medication administration, and following individual support plans.
Responsibilities
- Advocate and support individuals with disabilities to participate in their community and daily activities.
- Assist with household tasks such as cleaning, cooking, and shopping.
- Provide personal care services including bathing, toileting, dressing, and dental hygiene.
- Aid in medical appointments and medication management.
- Support individuals in becoming active members of their community and attending outings.
- Follow Behavior Support Plans and Individual Support Plans to ensure the safety and well-being of those served.
- Evacuate individuals from the home safely in case of emergencies.
- Maintain certifications and comply with agency policies and DDS regulations.
Requirements
- Must be 21+ with reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities as outlined in the qualifications section.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including holidays, overnight shifts, and double shifts.
- Willingness to work in a supportive, engaging, and dedicated team environment.

Schedule
Part-time: 29 hours per week, flexible schedule.
Pay
$17.50-$19.00 per hour, with paid training provided by Venture!
