About the role

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) supports adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities by advocating for them and ensuring they have the necessary support to live independently. Duties include household maintenance, meal preparation, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, and assistance with medical appointments, banking, community activities, medication administration, and following behavior and individual support plans.

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for and support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Assist with daily living tasks such as household maintenance, meal preparation, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, and grooming
  • Aid in attending medical appointments, banking, and community activities
  • Administer medications and follow Behavior Support Plans and Individual Support Plans
  • Evacuate individuals from the home in case of emergencies
  • Maintain certifications and comply with agency policies and DDS regulations

Requirements

  • Must be 21+ with reliable transportation and valid driver's license
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities as outlined in the qualifications section
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in fluent English

Skills

Pay

$17.50 - 19.00 per hour

Schedule

Sunday 9a-9p, Friday 3p-11p
Part Time: 20 hours
