About the role

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) supports adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them with daily activities and ensuring they are safe and comfortable.

Responsibilities

• Supporting individuals with household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, and other personal care tasks.
• Aiding individuals in attending medical appointments, banking, and community activities.
• Administering medications as per Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans, and medical guidelines.
• Evacuating individuals from the home in case of emergencies.
• Maintaining certifications and following agency policies and DDS regulations.

Requirements

• Must be 21+ with reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
• Experience working in a residential setting with individuals who have highly behavioral needs.
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform essential functions of the job.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in fluent English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules including holidays, overnights, or double shifts.
