Direct Support Professional (Adult)

About the role

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) deliver care to adults with intellectual disabilities and jumpstart a fulfilling career with plenty of opportunity for advancement. In this role, you will help clients develop and strengthen interpersonal and coping skills while guiding them in creating positive relationships with family and peers. DSPs serve as invaluable role models to adults with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to adults with intellectual disabilities in agency homes, including medication administration
• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care
• Facilitate community integration
• Provide positive behavioral supports

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Willing and able to provide personal care to all genders
• Current driver’s license and a clean driving record as outlined in Spurwink’s Driving policy
