Direct Support Professional (Adult)

About the role

Direct Support Professionals (DSP) care for people with developmental disabilities and/or brain injury in Spurwink’s residential homes in Limerick. You will help adults develop and strengthen interpersonal and coping skills while guiding them in creating positive relationships with family and peers, serving as an invaluable role model.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to adults with intellectual disabilities in agency homes, including medication administration
• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care
• Facilitate community integration and provide positive behavioral supports
• Help cook meals and maintain household upkeep
• Assist clients with personal hygiene and interpersonal skills
• Transport clients to community events

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current driver’s license and clean driving record as outlined in Spurwink’s Driving policy
