About the role
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a crucial role in supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them maintain their daily routines and engage actively in their communities.
Responsibilities
- Supporting with household maintenance, meal preparation, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, and other personal care activities.
- Aiding individuals in attending medical appointments, banking, and community activities.
- Administering medications as per the Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans, and medical guidelines.
- Following evacuation procedures in case of emergencies.
- Maintaining certifications and following agency policies and DDS regulations.
Requirements
- At least 21 years old with reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven record of responsible behavior.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including holidays, overnights, or double shifts.
