104-10 Direct Support Professional

Description

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for advocating and supporting adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Their support needs include, but are not limited to, household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, attending medical appointments, banking, becoming active members of the community, attending outings, administering medications, following Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans and goals, and adhering to medical guidelines.

• Sign On Bonus: $1000 for Full Time and $500 for Part Time employees

Qualifications

• Commitment to assisting people with varying disabilities to participate fully in their community and in their own lives.
• Variated interests and personal connections in the local community.
• Proven record of conscientious, responsible behavior (work, volunteer or school history).
• Ability to work as a creative, engaged, dedicated member of the team.

Requirements

• 18+ with reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
• High School Diploma or GED
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities listed above, and ability to perform essential functions of the job.
• Skill in speaking, reading, and writing in fluent English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the program and individuals supported.
