New Pay Rate! Paid Training! Schedule: Monday-Friday 7a-3p Full Time: 40 hours Pay: $17.50-19 per hour – Paid training provided by Venture! Sign On Bonus: $1000 for Full Time and $500 for Part Time employees
About the role
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for advocating and supporting adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities by empowering them to be as active in their lives as they can. Their support needs include, but are not limited to, household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, etc…so that they may always look and feel their best. The DSP may be asked to assist them to their medical appointments, banking, assist them to become active members of their community, attend outings, administer medications, follow Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans and goals, and to follow medical guidelines that are in place.
Responsibilities
- Empowering individuals to participate fully in their community and in their own lives
- Supporting individuals with household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, etc…
- Aiding individuals to their medical appointments, banking, attending outings, administering medications, following Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans and goals, and adhering to medical guidelines
- Maintaining certifications, complying with Agency policies, and following DDS regulations/policies
Qualifications
- Commitment to assisting people with varying disabilities to participate fully in their community and in their own lives
- Variety of interests and personal connections in the local community
- Proven record of conscientious, responsible behavior (work, volunteer or school history)
- Ability to work as a creative, engaged, dedicated member of the team
Requirements
- 18+ with reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities as listed above, and ability to perform essential functions of the job
- Fluent English speaking, reading, and writing skills
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the program and individuals supported
