About the role

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) supports adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, and more. The DSP also assists with medical appointments, banking, community activities, medication administration, and following individual plans.

Responsibilities

• Advocate and support individuals with disabilities
• Assist with daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Support individuals in attending medical appointments and community activities
• Administer medications and follow Behavior Support Plans and Individual Support Plans
• Evacuate individuals safely in case of emergencies
• Maintain certifications and comply with agency policies and DDS regulations

Requirements

• Must be 21+
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
• High School Diploma or GED
• Knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform essential functions of the job
• Ability to speak, read, and write in fluent English
• Flexible schedule to meet program and individual needs
