Direct Support Professional

About the role

Empower. Transform. Make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and adolescents (ages 3–21) with Autism, developmental disabilities, brain injury, or neuro-behavioral disorders. As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in our residential program, you’ll help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can grow, thrive, and achieve greater independence.

Responsibilities

• Support children with daily routines including hygiene, meals, dressing, and medication.
• Create a positive, structured environment that encourages communication, play, and skill-building.
• Use behavior support strategies to promote emotional regulation and reduce challenging behavior.
• Partner with clinical, educational, and healthcare teams to support individualized treatment plans.
• Provide transportation and community integration support for outings, appointments, and school transitions.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or GED.
• A valid and current U.S. driver’s license with at least 1 year of licensed driving experience.

Qualifications

• Patience, compassion, and the ability to support children with diverse communication and behavioral needs.
• Experience with children or individuals with special needs preferred.

Skills

• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.

Pay

• $21/hour with a raise to $21.50/hour after 6 months.
