This position is remote. However, the contractor will be required to work during the core business hours of 8AM – 5PM EST weekdays. There is a mandatory one hour lunch break from 12:00PM – 1:00PM.
About the role
The direct client has an opening for a Project Manager/Coordinator position. This position is for 6+ months, with option of extension, and will be worked onsite in Raleigh, NC (must work EST business hours).
Responsibilities
- Coordinate among multiple teams and individuals to ensure work items and deliverables are scheduled, completed, and delivered to the clients on time and with high quality & excellent, usable documentation.
- Cookpide the development and delivery of training materials for changed business processes and IT applications.
- Maintain and monitor project plans and milestones.
- Assess and document project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable.
- Provide coordination for other project team members as needed.
- Document and follow up on important actions and decisions from meetings.
- Organize, attend, and participate in stakeholder meetings.
- Prepare necessary presentation materials for meetings.
- Provide administrative support as needed.
- Undertake project tasks as required.
- Document the program and project deliverables as assigned.
- Ensure projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
- Ensure stakeholder views are managed towards the best solution.
- Chair and facilitate meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes to all project team members.
- Able to manage complex strategic projects with multiple work streams.
- Able to create simple to complex project plans, timelines, and work breakdown structures.
- Must have strategic planning skills with good understanding of roadmap development.
- Must have proficiency in project management.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to work in a high-demand dynamic environment.
- Results-oriented, self-motivated individual with a very strong work ethic and must be able to demonstrate planning, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Manage large scale compliance projects including implementation of GRC Tool in ServiceNow and Implement GRC policy.
- Ability to act independently with sound business judgement.
- Manage and direct a large upgrade project (i.e., project staffing, developing, monitoring and controlling schedules; identifying and resolving issues and risks; and communicating status to stakeholders).
- Work on complex problems where analysis of situation or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors to achieve best results.
- Work effectively with internal and external clients, third party vendors, and senior management in accomplishing project objectives.
- Evaluate complex situations accurately and identify viable solutions that create successful outcomes for the customer.
- Work closely with the Project Sponsor(s) and Governance Committees to facilitate decisions necessary for project delivery.
- Manage effective project oversight and reviews to affect project success.
- Develop and maintain project documentation including schedules/timelines and various detailed plans for Communication, Risk Management, Deployment and others as required.
- Develop and maintain "lessons-learned" for utilization on future projects.
- Manage political, resource, budgeting, change, and issues affecting the project.
- Manage change requests associated with the project.
- Drive project work to completion.
- Escalate issues when needed.
- Develop and maintain status reports, decision and issue logs.
Qualifications
- Project management/coordination skills - Required - 5 Years
- Training material development and documentation - Required - 5 Years
- Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint - Required - 5 Years
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Project - Required - 5 Years
- Experience explaining business processes to IT users and IT applications to business users - Required - 5 Years
- Microsoft Suite experience (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) - Required - 5 Years
- Proven experience managing multiple projects - Required - 5 Years
- Proven experience writing clear and concise technical and user documentation - Required - 5 Years
- Working knowledge of application development life cycle - Required - 5 Years
