Zoning & Compliance Specialist

Department of Planning and Zoning – part-time, temporary office professional position supporting the Town’s zoning enforcement program during real-estate transfers.

About the role

The Zoning & Compliance Specialist will handle departmental administrative and customer-service tasks related to permitting in a small, team-oriented, collaborative environment. The role is public-facing and plays a vital role in connecting with and servicing the community.

Responsibilities

• Assist with phone and in-person public inquiries
• Manage files and perform property research to support the building and zoning permit application process
• Collect and process payments
• Coordinate scheduling of staff site inspections
• Support a variety of other administrative tasks

Requirements

• Customer-service mindset and excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities with a positive, solution-oriented attitude
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ability to learn specialized software
• Valid driver’s license

Pay

$25 per hour

Schedule

Flexible part-time hours within the Town’s standard office hours of 8 am – 4:30 pm. Duration of the position is also flexible.
