About the role

LanguageLine Solutions is a company dedicated to breaking down language and cultural barriers. We employ interpreters to help limited-English speakers, the Deaf, and the Hard-of-Hearing communicate effectively. Our interpreters work remotely, providing services in various industries including healthcare, law enforcement, and finance.

Responsibilities

• Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
• Render accurate interpretations of conversations between Zo and English speakers.
• Adapt to different accents and dialects to ensure clear communication.
• Stay calm and professional during emotionally charged or stressful calls.
• Follow client instructions and maintain confidentiality.
• Understand and adhere to industry-specific protocols and terminologies.
• Ensure cultural sensitivity and maintain a diverse work environment.

Requirements

• Fluency in Zo and English with a strong understanding of cultural dynamics.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
• Ability to concentrate and remain neutral during sensitive calls.
• Experience in language-related fields such as teaching, translation, or interpretation.
• Proficiency in reading and writing Zo and English.
• At least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Access to a reliable personal device and high-speed internet.
• Able to operate a keyboard and mouse for long periods.
• Physical capability to lift up to 26 lbs and work in a stationary position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship.
• Experience with LLS technology enhancements.

Skills

• Strong language skills in Zo and English.
• Cultural competency and regional accent awareness.
• Professional demeanor and ability to handle sensitive topics.
• Technical proficiency with company-provided software and systems.

Schedule

This is a remote position where interpreters work from their home office. A quiet and secure environment is essential.
