Youth Support Worker - Rangatahi Services
Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga (TToH) is looking for an experienced Youth Support Worker to join our Rangatahi services team based in Heretaunga. This is a full-time permanent role, working Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm (40 hours per week).

About the Role
You will work directly with Rangatahi and their whānau in the community. This role focuses on supporting young people receiving the Youth Payment (YP) and Young Parent Payment (YPP). You will help them navigate challenges, access support, and work towards employment and independence. Your mahi will make a real difference in the lives of young adults and their tamariki.
Responsibilities
- Support Rangatahi and their whānau to access services such as YP/YPP payments, budgeting support, parenting programmes, Well Child providers, and Early Childhood Education.
- Build strong, trusting relationships to keep Rangatahi engaged in education, employment or training.
- Maintain an active caseload, ensuring all service standards, reporting, and contract milestones are met.
- Work collaboratively as part of an integrated team, delivering services in a culturally safe, professional, and empowering way.
Requirements
- Experience working with Rangatahi with aroha and manaakitaunga.
- Mature, levelheaded, calm and patient.
- Understands the policies and processes of the Ministry of Social Development (MSD), including benefit entitlements.
- Confident using computers and online systems for applications, notes and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of local communities and grounded in Te Ao Māori values and tikanga.
- A full, clean NZ driver licence.
