About the role
The Youth Performance Coach at COPA STC – SpeedLab is responsible for delivering evidence-informed private and small-group sports performance training sessions to athletes ages 9–19. Key responsibilities include leading training sessions, conducting assessments, and contributing to ongoing performance tracking.
Responsibilities
- Deliver SpeedLab sports performance training sessions to athletes ages 9–19
- Coach and engage with developing athletes across multiple sports on a daily basis
- Create a safe, welcoming, and high-energy, technology-supported performance environment
- Support athlete assessments and contribute to ongoing performance tracking
- Participate in staff development, coach education, and outreach initiatives
Requirements
- Experience coaching youth athletes in a performance, strength & conditioning, or athletic development setting
- Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field (or currently enrolled)
- CSCS, XPS, or other relevant strength & conditioning / sports performance certification
- Ability to perform physical job demands including demonstrating exercises, moving equipment, lifting up to 45 pounds, and prolonged standing/walking
- Willingness and ability to learn and utilize performance technology and data systems integral to the SpeedLab curriculum
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Solution-oriented mindset, particularly in athlete and parent-facing situations

- Strong movement coaching instincts with creativity and problem-solving ability
- A genuine desire to serve and develop youth athletes through performance training
- Professional and positive in interactions with parents, athletes, and staff
- A growth mindset with interest in continuing education and skill development
- Pride in maintaining the standards of an elite sports performance facility
- A dependable team player who collaborates well within a coaching staff

Pay
$20 - $40 / hour
Schedule & Availability
The Youth Performance Coach role is part-time, requiring 3–5 days of availability per week. Available times include:
- Mornings 7:00am-1:00pm
- Afternoon/Evenings 3:00pm–8:30pm
- Saturday–Sunday: 9:00am–2:00pm
- Monday–Friday: flexible schedule within the above timeframes
