Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Youth Sports Director to lead our growing sports program. We currently serve over 5,000 athletes per year and utilize 800+ volunteer coaches. This program has more growth potential and we need the person who will continue to broaden our reach. You will be leading a team of up to 20 staff, along with developing coaches for our various sports. We need someone with management, volunteer, marketing, communications, and fundraising experience to take our program to the next level. If you can check these boxes, we want to speak to you!

Qualifications

  • Experience working with individuals, families and communities of diverse backgrounds and abilities
  • One year or more previous direct supervisory experience
  • Strong computer skills and experience with standard business software
  • Strong professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in second language desired

Essential Functions

  • Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions and to supervise program activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor locations.
  • Regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents; analyze and solve non-routine and complex problems; may use math and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills; perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks; work under intensive deadlines with frequent interruptions; and interact with members, staff, volunteers, and others encountered in the course of work, some of whom may be dissatisfied individuals.
