About the role

You'll lead and support a team of Youth Specialists who work directly with residents throughout the day. You'll serve as a coach, mentor, and resource for staff, helping them develop the confidence, skills, and knowledge needed to provide exceptional care and support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to direct care staff while ensuring a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for residents.
  • Play an important role in shaping team culture, supporting treatment goals, and helping youth experience consistency from the adults who care for them every day.
  • Lead and support a team of Youth Specialists who work directly with residents throughout the day.
  • Serve as a coach, mentor, and resource for staff, helping them develop the confidence, skills, and knowledge needed to provide exceptional care and support.
  • Help ensure trauma-informed care remains at the center of every interaction, creating an environment where youth feel safe, supported, and understood.
  • Work alongside the clinical and residential teams to help youth make progress toward treatment goals, develop healthy coping skills, and build greater independence.
  • Guide staff through challenging situations, provide support during crises, and model calm, consistent leadership when it's needed most.
  • Contribute to a positive culture where accountability, teamwork, growth, and respect are foundational to the work being done.
  • Coach a new team member, participate in treatment discussions, or help resolve challenges on the living unit.
  • Celebrate staff successes, support youth through difficult moments, or help the team navigate an unexpected situation.

Requirements

  • One of the following qualifications is required:
  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in a child caring institution,
  • Two years of completed college coursework and 3 years of experience in a child caring institution,
  • High school diploma and 4 years of experience in a child caring institution.

Qualifications

  • Previous leadership, supervision, or team development experience preferred.
  • Experience working with youth who have developmental disabilities, emotional impairments, or behavioral challenges, required.
  • Strong communication, coaching, conflict-resolution, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to trauma-informed care and youth development.

Pay

  • $55,000

Schedule

  • Full-time, 40 hrs per week, Monday - Friday
  • Day / Afternoon Shift with a flexible schedule based on program and resident needs
  • 8 hour shifts
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Participation in shared on-call responsibilities.
  • Regular involvement in treatment team meetings, staff development, training, and residential program operations.
  • Ability to provide support during crisis situations and after normal business hours when necessary.
