Youth Education Navigator

About the Role

The Youth Education Navigator supports high school-aged youth at risk of not completing their high school diploma (HSD), GED, or equivalent credential. This role ensures access to tutoring, vocational training, and precollege programs, while developing personalized education plans and connecting youth to career exploration and life skills resources that promote long-term success.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage youth at risk of not completing their secondary education.
  • Develop individualized education plans that align with academic and career goals.
  • Facilitate access to tutoring, GED/HSED programs, vocational training, and precollege initiatives.
  • Connect youth to career exploration opportunities including job shadowing, internships, and workforce readiness programs.
  • Refer youth to life skills programs covering financial literacy, time management, communication, and other essential competencies.
  • Collaborate with schools, community organizations, and W-2 staff to ensure coordinated support.
  • Monitor academic progress and provide ongoing encouragement and guidance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress, and outcomes.
  • Uphold confidentiality and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and program regulations.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in education, Youth Development, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth in educational or social service settings.
  • Knowledge of secondary education systems and alternative credentialing pathways.
  • Strong communication and motivational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with W-2 youth programs or similar initiatives.
  • Familiarity with local education and youth development resources.
  • Bilingual (Spanish or Hmong) a plus.
