About the role
Family & Children’s Services is seeking a Youth Care Coordinator to provide targeted support services and youth-centered Systems of Care (SOC). SOC coordinates mental health and community services with the needs of children and families impacted by trauma, aiming to prevent out-of-home placements and support families through resources.
Responsibilities
- Provide targeted support services and youth-centered Systems of Care (SOC)
- Coordinate mental health and community services with the needs of children and families impacted by trauma
- Prevent out-of-home placements and support families through resources
- Work with youth in their homes/communities while incorporating the entire family in treatment options
- Wraparound services to strengthen healthy home, school, and family experiences
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social or human sciences from an accredited university
- Minimum of one-year work with juveniles in the mental health field or related social service field
- Specialized training/certification in mental health services as needed
- Ability to see, hear, and speak clearly to interact with staff, consumers, family members, administration, and the community
- Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines efficiently, maintain balance between physical and mental health, and comply with job requirements
- Climb stairs and access non-handicapped equipped residences/facilities
- Driver's License and use of personal automobile for travel to locations other than primary office
- Mileage reimbursement provided for transportation of clients
