Job Overview
The Apprentice provides the best possible support by assisting with all aspects of repair/service planning. This position will allow the team member to gain insight to the production processes in our shops (Assembly/Body/Paint). The apprenticeship will expose the team member to all levels in the organization in order to assist in building a resume that will allow the individual to become competitive in the job market.
Responsibilities
- Improve transparency of project-related action items
- Develop and track useful KPIs
- Feasibility analysis of optimization projects
- Clock project steps with plant operations
- Prepare meeting agendas and minutes
- Aid where needed at the department
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum HSD/GED required.
- Must be currently working towards a relevant Associate’s degree, or relevant certificate program, or have already graduated within the last 12 months.
- Available to complete the 3 semester program duration
Knowledge and Skills
- Analytical thinking, ability to work systematically and independently
- Good knowledge in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
- German language is a plus but not a requirement
- Applicants should be eager, driven, focused, hard-working individuals that are ready to assist a growing company
- Should be willing to learn and be taught skills from experienced members of the team
- The individual should be self-motivated and interested in adding value and making a difference within an organization

About the Role
The Sprinter plant officially opened in 2018 and serves as a key part of the Mercedes-Benz Vans global production network. MBV Charleston was selected as the first plant in this network to produce the all-new eSprinter, beginning in 2024. The company also continues to invest in the local community through donations to non-profits and schools, as well as active support of STEM education initiatives and volunteer programs.
Requirements
Since 2006, Sprinter and Metris vans have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered to destinations across the United States. In 2025, the plant celebrated the assembly of the 5,000,000th Sprinter in the Mercedes-Benz global production network. The U.S. remains the second largest market for Sprinter vans after Germany.
