Youth Apprentice - Laboratory

About the role

The Youth Apprentice – Laboratory will assist laboratory care team members as directed under the supervision of healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Absorb and follow instructions from healthcare professionals.
• Assist with customer service tasks.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures.
• Accomplish accessioning tasks.
• Prepare pre-analytic specimens as needed.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in High School as a Junior or Senior OR have received a High School Diploma.
• Must be accepted into the Trident Technical College Youth Apprenticeship Program.
• Continued participation in the Trident Technical College Youth Apprenticeship Program is required to meet minimum qualifications for this position.
• Complete the Medical Laboratory Assistant Certificate program through Trident Technical College Apprenticeship Program.
• Show strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft products such as Excel and Word.
