Youth Apprentice - Laboratory
About the role
The Youth Apprentice – Laboratory will assist laboratory care team members as directed under the supervision of healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Absorb and follow instructions from healthcare professionals.
- Assist with customer service tasks.
- Perform phlebotomy procedures.
- Accomplish accessioning tasks.
- Prepare pre-analytic specimens as needed.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in High School as a Junior or Senior OR have received a High School Diploma.
- Must be accepted into the Trident Technical College Youth Apprenticeship Program.
- Continued participation in the Trident Technical College Youth Apprenticeship Program is required to meet minimum qualifications for this position.
- Complete the Medical Laboratory Assistant Certificate program through Trident Technical College Apprenticeship Program.
- Show strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft products such as Excel and Word.
