Job Summary
The Youth Activities Counselor is responsible for facilitating, and supervising drop-In care, youth programs and family-friendly events while ensuring the safety, well-being, and enjoyment of all participants. This role creates a fun, engaging, and welcoming environment for children through a variety of organized activities while providing exceptional service to members and their families.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work as directed to support the mission and values of Atlanta Athletic Club
- Leads and coordinates learning based activities with children, i.e. arts, crafts, games, storytelling, etc.
- Implement safety procedures as instructed by supervisor
- Completes accident/incident reports related to child injuries and behavior
- Auxiliary in setting up and breaking down children’s activities and events
- Maintains clean environment for children and members
- Attentiveness with diaper changing and empathy for children
- Builts a positive dynamic between staff, children, and parents
- Interacts with all members, guests, peers, and supervisors in a professional manner
- Presents kids first mentality while making safety their top priority
- Aid in club wide events and implementing child friendly activities
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in high school, high school diploma or equivalent
- One year’s minimum experience in childcare or youth activities
- Able to work at least three shifts per week
- CPR, AED, and First Aid certification (Adult, Child, and Infant) is preferred
