Job Summary

The Youth Activities Counselor is responsible for facilitating, and supervising drop-In care, youth programs and family-friendly events while ensuring the safety, well-being, and enjoyment of all participants. This role creates a fun, engaging, and welcoming environment for children through a variety of organized activities while providing exceptional service to members and their families.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work as directed to support the mission and values of Atlanta Athletic Club
  • Leads and coordinates learning based activities with children, i.e. arts, crafts, games, storytelling, etc.
  • Implement safety procedures as instructed by supervisor
  • Completes accident/incident reports related to child injuries and behavior
  • Auxiliary in setting up and breaking down children’s activities and events
  • Maintains clean environment for children and members
  • Attentiveness with diaper changing and empathy for children
  • Builts a positive dynamic between staff, children, and parents
  • Interacts with all members, guests, peers, and supervisors in a professional manner
  • Presents kids first mentality while making safety their top priority
  • Aid in club wide events and implementing child friendly activities

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in high school, high school diploma or equivalent
  • One year’s minimum experience in childcare or youth activities
  • Able to work at least three shifts per week
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certification (Adult, Child, and Infant) is preferred
