About the role
The Youth Activities Counselor at Whitmoor Country Club is responsible for overseeing various youth-related activities and programs, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for members and guests.
Responsibilities
- Greet members and guests professionally and answer their inquiries.
- Assist with setup, decorations, and safety checks before events.
- Host and engage children and families in activities such as pool activities, events, camps, and holiday events.
- Sign children in and out, check IDs, and supervise them.
- Ensure compliance with the club's standards, policies, and regulations.
- Be knowledgeable about and address children's allergies and special needs.
- Supervise children and make quick decisions based on safety and judgment.
- Communicate effectively and report any unforeseen circumstances to supervisors.
- Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and proper locking of the children's playroom.
- Perform other duties as assigned by managers.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of Outlook, internet applications, and office equipment.
- Knowledge of age-appropriate activities and enjoyment of working with all age groups.
- Excellent communication skills, including strong verbal, written, and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with members, guests, clients, and employees.
- Physical demands: ability to safely lift up to 30 pounds, continuous walking and standing, frequent lifting, bending, stooping, pulling, and repetitive actions, physical ability to reach, bend, and stoop, and ability to work in a standing position for long periods.
- Mental demands: ability to convey information and ideas clearly, evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately, maintain composure and objectivity under pressure, and effectively listen, understand, and clarify concerns and issues raised by members, guests, and team members.
