Job Summary
High Concrete is seeking a Yard person/Material Handler to join our 1st Shift team starting at 6:00 AM. This position is based in Denver, PA.
Responsibilities
- Assist in performing duties to ensure the proper and safe handling of products from the production areas to yard storage.
- Ensure a smooth and safe flow of products from the storage areas onto trailers for shipments to job sites.
- Hook up products for loading and unloading.
- Set blocks, evaluate pieces with wood blocks.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Use hand signals to escort equipment operators for setting, lifting or maneuvering production pieces during loading/unloading process.
- Operate electronic handheld scanners for verification of production pieces during storage process.
- Gather shims, steel blocks, homosote, rack pins, and wood blocking used for the day's production at the start of the shift.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Certified equipment operator a plus; travel lift and/or tow motor a plus.
- Ability to work outdoors year-round.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- General knowledge of materials handling and safety procedures.
