Yard Jockey (6:00pm-6:30am)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (essential Functions Of The Job)

• Correctly confirms the safe operational condition of vehicles and/or equipment before and after use
• Ensure vehicles and/or equipment and seal inspections
• Work with dispatch and warehouse staff regarding communicating, sequencing, and movement coordination
• Safely operate material handling equipment to load or unload materials and ensure proper closure of the trailer as necessary
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the trailer yard through meticulous attention to detail and daily yard audits
• Accountable for food safety, food quality, and regulatory requirements for their position
• Empowerment to work with supervision to resolve food safety and food quality issues within their scope of work
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Education And Experience

• Minimum Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, Valid “Class-A” Commercial Driver’s License required, One year of experience as a yard jockey operator required
• Additional Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the food/beverage industry, Previous experience in Manufacturing or production environment, Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Detailed oriented and have the ability to multi-task, Proven organizational skills

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Frequent: sitting, upward and downward flexion of neck, fine finger dexterity and light to moderate finger pressure to include extended periods of keyboard and mouse use, side-to-side turning of neck, walking, standing, bending and stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting at waist, moderate wrist torque to twist equipment knobs and dials
• Occasional: squatting, kneeling, reach above and at shoulder height, moderate grasp to manipulate reference books and manuals, lifting objects weighing up to 50lbs. from below waist to above shoulders and transporting distances up to 50 feet
• Vision: Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction, Hearing: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction
