Yard Worker

Job Overview

We are seeking a full-time Railroad Yard Worker to join our team in Denver, CO. This position plays a vital role in the safe and efficient operation of yard activities.

Essential Job Functions

• Sort and organize rail cars to ensure efficient yard operations.
• Couple and uncouple rail cars safely and accurately.
• Scale trucks in and out of the yard.
• Inspect equipment regularly to identify safety or maintenance issues.
• Operate switches and signals to direct rail traffic.
• Communicate directions and operational needs clearly with yard personnel and train crews.
• Assist in loading and unloading freight as required.
• Operate forklifts when needed (prior experience is a plus).
• Enforce proper housekeeping practices and maintain a clean, organized yard free from debris, spills, and waste.
• Support operators with various tasks to ensure smooth workflow.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by management.
• May require occasional overtime, weekends or holiday shifts as dictated by business needs.

Qualifications

• Basic Knowledge of Microsoft 365
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• MUST BE SELF-MOTIVATED AND HARD WORKING
• Ability to avoid distractions during working hours, e.g., refrain from cell phone use.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, multiple times per day with or without accommodation.
• Must successfully pass background check and drug screening criteria.
• Must possess a Valid Driver's License.
