Yard Worker

About the Role

Architectural Fiberglass, Inc. is seeking a year-round yard person to move materials and molds between our two facilities and the storage yard. This role involves working outside in all weather conditions, including rain, snow, sub-freezing temperatures, heat, and humidity. While some inside work is required, the position demands a willingness to work outdoors without complaint. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, thrives with minimal supervision, and is prepared for physical labor.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks and heavy equipment, including forklifts, skid steer loaders, and a lull telehandler.
• Lift, walk, and carry parts and molds weighing 50-75 lbs regularly.
• Perform general daily maintenance on equipment.
• Follow all applicable safety rules for equipment and motor vehicles.
• Take directions from multiple managers via group text and emails.
• Manage time efficiently and work quickly but safely.
• Use a tape measure proficiently.
• Maintain equipment and perform basic upkeep.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a pickup truck and stake body truck (CDL not required).
• Experience operating at least one type of heavy equipment (e.g., forklifts, skid steer loader, lull telehandler); training available for other equipment.
• Able to work from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with some Saturdays and overtime as needed.
• Ability to lift 50-75 lbs regularly.
• Strong time-management skills and ability to work safely under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand shop drawings.
• Sense of urgency to accomplish tasks efficiently.
• Maintain a positive attitude toward a demanding workload.
• Ability to read and use maps for locating and returning molds to assigned locations.

Schedule

• Full-time, Monday to Friday.
• 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (adjustable based on company needs).
