Yard Worker
About the role
Action Traffic Maintenance, Inc. is a family-owned construction company with over 40 years of experience, specializing in road signs, guardrails, high-tension cable barriers, fencing, and traffic control services. We are hiring a Yard Worker to assist with daily operations at our facility, maintaining an organized, clean, and safe work yard while supporting the preparation and movement of materials and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Build and assemble cages
- Clean and organize the yard
- Load and unload trucks
- Move, stack, and organize materials
- Assist with general yard and shop duties as needed
- Maintain a safe and orderly work area
- Follow all company safety procedures
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely
- Dependable and punctual
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Willingness to perform a variety of tasks as daily needs change
- Ability to perform manual labor in an outdoor environment (heat, sun, cold, and rain)
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, reach, and lift throughout the workday
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds without assistance
- Ability to work safely around trucks, equipment, and moving machinery
Skills
The following experience is helpful but not required:
- Construction or general labor experience
- Loading and unloading materials
- Using hand and power tools
- Operating equipment
- Reading a tape measure
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The employee will frequently be required to stand, walk, bend, climb, reach, grasp tools, and use their hands and arms to move or assemble materials. The work environment may include exposure to dust, fumes, airborne particles, moderate to loud noise levels, and proximity to moving vehicles and mechanical equipment.
