Yard Worker

Responsibilities

• Check all fluid levels on his/her loader on a daily basis and fill as necessary prior to startup.
• Grease the pivot points on the bucket, lift arms, and center pins of the loader on a daily basis.
• Keep his/her loader clean and fueled for operation at all times.
• Aid the plant supervisor (or plant operator) in keeping the yard free of trash and debris.
• Ensure his material stockpiles are pushed up at all times.
• Order materials with his/her plant supervisor (or plant operator) to maintain adequate stock piles.
• Clean out the settling pits as needed and load the material onto dump trucks.
• Manage the sprinkler system during the summer months.
• Affirm the batch plant is ready for operation at all times by lubricating and cleaning various components.
• Turn on heaters, plug in heat tapes, and drain water pumps, valves, and lines during the winter months.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or GED
• Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
• Ability to operate heavy equipment (front end loader)
