Responsibilities

• Operate yard switcher equipment to move trailers and containers to specified locations.
• Coordinate with dispatchers and other yard personnel to prioritize and execute trailer movements.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the yard switcher equipment to ensure safety and report any issues.
• Maintain accurate records of trailer locations, arrivals, and departures.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including proper coupling and uncoupling of trailers.
• Communicate effectively with truck drivers, warehouse staff, and other team members.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the yard.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Proven experience operating yard switcher equipment or similar vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and protocols related to yard operations.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse team.

Physical Demands / Environmental Factors

• Ability to sit for extended periods and operate yard switcher equipment.
• Physical strength and agility to perform basic maintenance tasks, such as connecting and disconnecting trailers.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to stand and walk.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay

$25/hr
