Yard Supervisor
Summary
The Yard Supervisor is responsible for managing and coordinating the activities of employees and administering policies and procedures that will contribute to the site's operations running efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Assigns and schedules daily tasks and workloads to meet production goals.
- Ensures all materials, equipment, and tools are available and in working order.
- Confers with plant personnel and plans and allocates the use of materials.
- Handles equipment such as conveyors, cranes, tractors, and trucks.
- Inspects incoming materials and verifies invoices.
- Inspects machines and equipment and directs workers engaged in maintenance and repair work.
- Studies production schedules and estimates worker-hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Interprets job orders to workers and assigns duties.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Maintains time and production records.
- Works with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Previous supervisor experience.
- Proficient in MS Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Excellent customer oral and written communication skills.
- Problem-solving, analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Collaborative; builds and works with teams.
- Ability to coach and mentor.
Benefits
The salary range for this role is $50,000-$70,000. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location and business or organizational needs.
