About the role

Under direct supervision of the school principal or designee, supervise pupils during the eating period and free-day period at noon recess. FCUSD is seeking to build a team that is representative of our student body and community. Diverse individuals are encouraged to apply.

Positions and employees in this class are exempt from the regular classified service. Individuals are employed as needed on a part-time hourly basis, for short working hours on school days only. These employees do not attain permanency, receive step increases, or other fringe benefits. They are paid on the variable payroll.

Schedule

• 9.5 work months (school year)
• 3.0 hours per day, 5 days a week
• Clock hours: 10:10 am to 1:10 pm

Pay

$18.93 per hour

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils during the eating period and noon recess

Requirements

• Equivalent to a high school education
• Supervision of children through youth or service organizations (e.g., scouts, church school classes, recreational groups) is desirable

Physical requirements

• Vision to observe students
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time, run, walk, stoop, and bend
• Hearing and speaking to exchange information

Hazards

• Adverse weather conditions
• Potential physical hazards involved in intervening in antisocial behavior

Upon conditional offer of employment

• DOJ and FBI criminal background check
• TB test (within 60 days of hire)
• Complete district-mandated reporter training, sexual harassment training, etc.
