X-ray Technologist - Woodhull

Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an X-ray Technologist at Woodhull. In this role, the successful candidate operates radiology imaging equipment to produce images for use by professional personnel.

Responsibilities

• Adjusts switches regulating length and intensity of exposure.
• Prepares reports and maintains records of service rendered.
• Makes minor adjustments to equipment.
• May assist in therapy requiring application of radium or radioactive isotopes.
• Positions patient under x-ray machine, adjusts immobilization devices, and affixes lead to plates to protect unaffected areas.
• Assists in treating diseased or affected areas of body, under supervision of physician, by exposing area to specified concentrations of x-rays for prescribed periods of time.
• May specialize in taking x-rays of specific areas of the body.
• Applies roentgen rays and radioactive substances to patients for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
• Administers drugs or chemical mixtures orally or as enemas to render organs opaque.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Associate's Degree or Certificate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
• New York State Radiologic Technology License (or permit accepted in lieu of license).

Preferred Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in general radiology.
• Knowledgeable in the use of PACS system.
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $93,712.71 - $105,621.81 annually. Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
