At Fast Pace Urgent Care, X-Ray Techs provide clinical and administrative support essential for effective patient care under the direct supervision of a Provider, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant. They deliver outstanding patient service, maintain a compassionate and welcoming atmosphere, and respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment in addition to imaging. The X-Ray Tech will provide effective customer service for all internal and external customers using excellent, in-depth knowledge and communicating effectively with team members.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill all responsibilities of Nurse/Clinical Tech and Patient Care Specialist as detailed in their respective job descriptions.
• Deliver clinical and administrative support for the team while adhering to all company policies and procedures.
• Monitor and track x-ray orders to ensure timely completion and submission.
• Assist patients with proper positioning during exams to ensure diagnostic quality.
• Conduct activities in compliance with federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and health information management guidelines.
• Review exam images for initial provider read and send final images to Radiology for over-read.
• Correctly label laterality of all images using initialed lead markers.
• Ensure no removable artifacts are present in requested anatomy; document any unavoidable artifacts in the patient history.
• Address minor maintenance issues with machines and consult with nurse coordinator or Clinic Director before outsourcing.
• Monitor equipment condition (e.g., cassettes, chest bucky, exam table) for wear or malfunction; report issues to Imaging Director promptly.
• Clean cassettes, chest bucky, and exam table after each use to prevent cross-contamination.
• Maintain and distribute pregnancy waiver forms where applicable.
• Triage patients by checking and recording vitals, collecting clinical history, and performing basic nursing tasks (e.g., blood draws, injections, administering oral medications) when not conducting radiographic exams, if applicable in your state.
• Monitor and read X-Ray badge monthly; wear radiation monitors at all times in the X-Ray room and maintain reporting as required.
• Complete all mandatory compliance training.
• Welcome and onboard new employees, including introductions, clinic tours, and process overviews.
• Assist new employees with learning activities and required training through job shadowing, demonstration, and coaching.
• Maintain friendly, cordial relations with all employees, clients, and managers to foster a positive work atmosphere.
• Perform physical, sensory, cognitive, and environmental functions as specified in the physical demands of the position.

Requirements

• Current ARRT License (Registered Technologist) or State License (Registered Technologists’ and Limited Scope); license must be active, in good standing, and verifiable.
• TB and IV Certification required within 60 days of employment and maintained during employment, if applicable in your state.
• CPR license.

Qualifications

Full Scope X-Ray Only:

• Level 1: High School Diploma or equivalent; at least 1 year of experience as a certified RT(R) or limited scope x-ray tech preferred in a clinic setting (urgent care preferred).
• Level 2: Certified RTR with over 1 year and less than 3 years of experience in direct patient care as an RTR.
• Level 3: Certified RTR with over 3 years and less than 7 years of experience in direct patient care as an RTR.
  • Additional responsibilities: Handle increased X-Ray volume (12+ per day), ortho-glass techniques for splinting/casting, and ultrasound procedures.
  • Additional experience required: Training in bracing and specific fitting.
• Level 4: Certified RTR with over 7 years of experience in direct patient care as an RTR.
  • Additional responsibilities: Handle increased X-Ray volume (12+ per day), ortho-glass techniques for splinting/casting, and ultrasound procedures.
  • Additional experience required: Training in bracing and specific fitting.
• Level 5: Certified RTR with over 7 years of experience in direct patient care as an RTR.
  • Additional responsibilities: Administrative duties (e.g., scheduling, ordering, training) as assigned by Clinic or Regional Director.

LSRT X-Ray (Applicable only in states where State Licensure LSRT is required as a minimum in Urgent Care):

• Level 1: High School Diploma or equivalent; at least 1 year of experience as a certified Limited Scope x-ray tech preferred in a clinic setting (urgent care preferred).
• Level 2: Certified Limited Scope with over 1 year and less than 3 years of experience in direct patient care as a Limited Scope.
• Level 3: Certified Limited Scope with over 3 years and less than 7 years of experience in direct patient care as a Limited Scope.
