About the role

NextCare Urgent Care is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Radiology Technician (RT) or Practical Technologist in Radiology (PTR) / Medical Assistant to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Responsibilities

  • Performs radiology duties within the scope of practice as stated in NextCare Policies and Procedures, as well as state Radiation Rules and Regulations.
  • Assists providers with exams (including patient vitals), procedures, and other processes related to direct patient care under direct supervision of the Provider and within the scope of practice of a Medical Assistant.
  • Administers all forms of medications per policy and under Provider direction, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures for medication administration.
  • May be responsible for urine collection for various testing, including employer drug screens.
  • Performs splinting and casting.
  • Conducts various types of physicals, such as sports physicals.
  • Performs other urgent care duties, such as wound care and oxygen administration.
  • Notifies the provider on duty promptly of all unusual patient occurrences, including medication events, via incident report.
  • Promptly notifies the Clinic Manager of patient or employee safety concerns.
  • Follows guidelines and requirements of laboratory and clinical accreditation policies.
  • Must be proficient in EMR/EHR.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or described by Company policy.

They provide patient care services in the urgent care setting, meeting the specific needs of each patient.

Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Diploma or certificate from an accredited radiology school.
  • Completed an APPROVED (accredited) Medical Assistant training program, OR completed an UNAPPROVED (non-accredited) Medical Assistant training program AND a National Certification through one of the following:
    • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) – Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
    • American Medical Technologists (AMT) – Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
    • National Healthcareer Association (NHA) – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA).
  • Certified Radiology Technician (RT) or Practical Technologist in Radiology (PTR) license.
  • Current healthcare professional-level CPR certification issued by American Heart Association, American Red Cross, American Safety Health Institute, or National Safety Council.
