X-Ray/Mammography Technologist
About the Role
Rhode Island Medical Imaging is currently offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus. This role performs the functions of a Mammography Technologist under general supervision, adhering to radiation safety measures and established policies and procedures.
Schedule
Monday-Friday, with shifts available from 8:00 AM-4:30 PM or 8:30 AM-5:00 PM at our Lincoln, RI clinical site. Shifts can vary.
Responsibilities
- Complete patient education regarding the exam and promote patient comfort.
- Perform diagnostic or screening mammograms, as ordered.
- Prepare for and assist the radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations, including breast biopsies.
- Produce high-quality films for the radiologist to evaluate.
- Perform quality control functions related to mammography.
- Demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Maintain a high degree of accuracy in mammography positioning and exposure techniques.
- Keep the site manager informed of any equipment problems.
Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a mammographer.
- Two (2) years of experience in performing mammography QA under the MQSA Standard.
- ARRT registered and a graduate of a Radiologic Technology Program.
- TOMO experience preferred.

Physical Demands
- Walks and stands intermittently throughout the day.
- May lift/position patients and supplies up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to move patients from scanner tables and transport patients in wheelchairs and/or stretchers.
- Ability to crouch, reach, and lift to allow appropriate manipulation, positioning, and placement of ancillary equipment.
- Exposure to high magnetic fields; cannot have any physical condition aggravated by magnetic fields, acoustic noise, and occasional RF exposure.
- Ability to work in Zone 3 and Zone 4.
