About the Role

As our Banquets Chef, you’re the culinary maestro bringing flavor and flair to every event. You’ll whip up delicious dishes for banquets, outlets, and our team cafeteria while following tried-and-true recipes. Your creations will not only taste amazing but also look irresistible. You’ll work alongside the Executive Chef to maintain a sparkling clean, safe, and organized kitchen while acting as a cost-saving wizard to minimize waste and maximize efficiency. This position is an overtime-eligible manager (OEM), with overtime calculated accordingly.

Responsibilities

  • Greet every guest and team member with warmth, courtesy, and a can-do spirit to set the scene for memorable occasions.
  • Maintain consistent attendance, arriving on time and ready to adapt to the dynamic rhythm of hotel events and schedules.
  • Adhere to professional grooming standards by wearing the approved uniform and nametag.
  • Comply with Aimbridge Hospitality’s safety and operational rules to ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen environment.
  • Serve as a friendly ambassador, maintaining a positive and helpful demeanor with guests, managers, and coworkers.
  • Assist in controlling food costs, organizing recipe cards, and training the team on new dishes to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
  • Motivate, mentor, and train kitchen staff using Aimbridge Hospitality’s standards, from hiring to ongoing development.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive banquet kitchen experience in a hotel or related field, with supervisory experience required.
  • Proficiency in company-approved spreadsheet and word processing software; valid state driver’s license required.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and evaluate options to make sound decisions.
  • Ability to work effectively under high-pressure situations while maintaining composure and objectivity.
  • Capability to understand and analyze complex information from various sources, including financial data and basic arithmetic.
  • Excellent listening skills to address and resolve concerns from coworkers and guests.

Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort & Spa is an upscale Southwestern workplace set on 80 acres in the Sonoran Desert.
