Wrestling Varsity Coach

About the Role The Varsity Wrestling Coach is responsible for the overall success of the Fitzgerald High School wrestling program. This includes developing and implementing practice plans, promoting sportsmanship, and fostering a positive team culture. The coach will also be responsible for scheduling meets, managing equipment, and ensuring compliance with MHSAA rules and regulations. Responsibilities Develop and implement practice plans that focus on individual and team development. Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and a positive team culture. Schedule and coordinate wrestling meets and tournaments. Manage and maintain wrestling equipment and facilities. Ensure compliance with MHSAA rules and regulations. Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents. Monitor academic progress of student-athletes. • Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or Building Principal.

Qualifications

• One to three years coaching experience preferred.
• Demonstrate ability to effectively work with students, staff, and parents.
• Completion of the Coaches Advancement Program (CAP) Level 1 for Athletic Coaches from the MHSAA (Level 2 is recommended) or agreement to complete Level 1 before the start of the second season of coaching is required.
• First Aid & CPR Certification.
