WOUND CARE NURSE (RN) PRN WEEKENDS
About the role
AMG Specialty Hospital - Albuquerque seeks a PRN Wound Care Nurse (RN) for weekend shifts. In this role, you will evaluate new and existing in/out patients' wounds and monitor and treat wounds according to treatment policies and procedures. You will provide direct and indirect patient care in the long-term acute care setting, communicate with physicians, CCO, and co-workers about changes in patient conditions, and respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient conditions or responses to treatment. Additionally, you will perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate new and existing in/out patients' wounds.
- Monitor and treat wounds as per treatment policies and procedures.
- Provide direct and indirect patient care in the long-term acute care setting.
- Communicate with physicians, CCO, and co-workers about changes in patient’s clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient’s condition or response to treatment.
- Perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse Licensure for the State of New Mexico.
- Acute care experience is preferred.
- Current certification of Wound Care preferred.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Able to communicate effectively and positively in English, both verbally and in writing.
