Responsibilities
- Provide resident care in accordance with acceptable nursing standards, physician orders, and established care plans.
- Demonstrate sound clinical judgment in assessing, treating, and monitoring wounds.
- Provide wound care treatments based on resident needs and best clinical practices.
- Deliver respectful, compassionate, and person-centered care to residents, families, and caregivers.
- Provide clinical guidance and direction to members of the nursing and care team.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of wound assessments, treatments, and outcomes.
- Ensure resident confidentiality is maintained at all times in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support healing, prevention strategies, and continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Must possess a current, unencumbered, active LPN or RN license in the state of Virginia.
- Wound Care Certification strongly preferred but not required.
- Valid BLS Certification (CPR) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of prior experience as a Wound Care Nurse in a nursing home or long-term care setting required.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
