Responsibilities
- Aids the Registered Nurse by collecting, recording, and reporting age-specific data including heart rate, pulse oximetry, and blood pressure.
- Collects wound photography and measurements, ensuring data completeness, accuracy, and comprehensiveness.
- Reports unusual observations or changes in patient condition or behavior promptly.
- Completes all aspects of patient care, including age-appropriate techniques for activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, transfers, positioning, hygiene, toileting, and correct application of orthosis/prostheses, and use of adaptive devices.
- Assists with proper lifting and handling of patients and equipment.
- Removes normal clinic trash and reviews sharps containers.
- Orders and maintains inventory of clinical supplies for the department.
- Answers phones, greets customers, routes calls to appropriate staff, and coordinates patient appointments.
- Coordinates patient ancillary testing with other hospital departments.
- Completes all Penn chart clinical documentation.
- Maintains office equipment (ordering as appropriate).
Requirements
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
Credentials
- H.S. Diploma or GED
- 3+ years patient care experience or medical office experience
