Responsibilities
- Supports the Distribution Services department in the day-to-day operation of the business through desktop, computer functionality, and device management.
- Works on Tier 1 moderately complex hardware and software problems.
- Uses reference manuals, software, and hardware manufacturers, and other sources to resolve hardware and software problems for all areas of the facility as requested or authorized.
- Provides immediate support to Distribution fulfillment operations.
- Responds to any printer or systems issue preventing or interrupting the fulfillment operation.
- Effectively prioritizes assigned issues in order to provide efficient and timely customer service and escalates issues as needed.
- Installs desktop, printers, wearable devices, laptop, tablet, video conferencing equipment [Hardware & Software].
- Receives, installs, tests, and trains the end user on new desktops.
- Maintains current software images of major desktop setups.
- Trains fellow staff members on new techniques or new found resolutions as appropriate and completes special requests.
- Works with team to manage internal periodic departmental moves.
- Sets up Video Conferences as requested.
- Updates and maintains central desktop and peripheral inventory database.
- Documents procedures related to workstation processes.
- Writes procedures for software and hardware installation.
- Performs all other duties or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Intermediate and Tier 1 desktop computer repair, configuration, and networking.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills to include creating presentations, creating documents in Word and creating spreadsheets in Excel.
- Customer oriented with ability to listen to and anticipate needs of the customer.
- Discreet with ability to perform work in a professional manner.
- Good understanding of business needs in order to prioritize work requests.
- Adaptable with ability to switch tasks based on shifting priorities.
- Articulate with ability to express oneself clearly and professionally in written and oral communication.
