Workshop Technician

About the role

As a Workshop Technician, you will assemble/disassemble and test vacuum pumps according to a weekly production plan. You will report to the Team Leader and collaborate with team members on Corrective Action Reports as needed.

• Review HS2 documentation daily.
• Use correct PPE and follow BAM processes and procedures.
• Meet daily production targets for quality, volume, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with zone members and the Zone Leader to establish priorities and meet customer due dates.
• Inspect parts, assemblies, and systems using Work Instructions, drawings, schematics, or other technical data.
• Perform daily checks on calibrated tooling before use.
• Conduct leak tests and assist in troubleshooting leak test failures.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean working area in accordance with 6S standards.
• Provide input and feedback for continuous improvement.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and according to work instructions.
• Raise issues and observations at SIM2 meetings.
• Follow the Kanban system and VTPS rules/standards.

Requirements

• High School education or GED, preferably in a mechanical/technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in manufacturing or a similar environment.
• Ability to work with hand and power tools.
• Good PC literacy; experience with SAP is an advantage.
• Ability to read drawings, schematics, and published specifications.
