Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain the safety, maintenance and cleanliness of the service parts warehouse and service equipment in compliance with company and industry standards
  • Acts as point of contact and liaison between customers, suppliers, freight carriers, and shipping department
  • Orders, receives, packages, dispatches, tracks and ensures on-time delivery of parts and tools by investigating and resolving detention issues
  • Organizes the return of non-compliance materials, warranty returns, salvageable cores, damaged or used material by preparing material return documentation and processing material returns with suppliers
  • Calibrates field service tooling; maintains tracking log of tool certification and ensures compliance with ISO and company quality standards
  • Requests parts and tools to perform job functions and sources local vendors required for field service projects
  • Maintains active list of project timelines and prioritizes job tasks
  • Aids in the preparation of projects and estimates for the field service technicians
  • Inspects physical condition of equipment including requisitions for replacement of equipment and tooling
  • Maintains inventory control of warehouse parts, tools, and consumables and provides quarterly reports
  • Maintains a clean and organized shop environment
  • Aids in project administrative tasks and upkeep of shop equipment/records
  • Provides technical and administrative assistance to other service personnel
  • Promotes a compliance culture in area of responsibility and lives the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct
  • Performs special projects as required

Requirements

  • Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship
  • Two years mechanical trade school or degree in engineering, business or supply chain management and two years’ experience in workshop, warehouse or parts distribution management or 4+ years’ workshop, warehouse or parts distribution management experience
  • Ability to travel 10-30% on short notice domestic and international
  • Ability to lift, push, pull weights in the 20-60 lb range

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong ability to operate warehouse equipment and tools (forklift, overhead crane, basic hand tools & specialty tooling)
  • Strong ability to organize, maintain, and keep record of parts, tooling and equipment
  • Work in a team environment
  • Proficient in the use of a PC and MS Office Suite
  • Experience in a warehouse environment tracking and managing inventory
  • Experience with process improvement and procedure writing
  • Experience with MTU engines and electronics
  • Experience in a large engine service industry
  • Experience in testing of diesel engine components
  • Strong skills in the use of mechanical and electrical hand tools
  • Strong knowledge of internal combustion engine operations
  • Strong knowledge in technical language and engineering terminology
  • Strong knowledge in the practical principles of electronics, physics, hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Proven ability to operate machine shop equipment used for fabricating test parts and equipment
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good factory representation, customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational, planning and follow-up skills
  • Good analytical and creative problem-solving skills when problems are very complex
  • Good knowledge in the physical properties of fuels, coolants, lubricants and oils
  • Ability to bend down, stand over, lay down and complete work tasks within the tight confines typical of marine engine compartments and/or engine rooms for long periods of time
  • Proficiency in utilizing precision measurement tools, including dial gauges, bore gauges, and micrometers, to ensure exceptional accuracy
  • CAD software proficiency
  • Experience in rigging of weights up to 1 ton
