Position Overview

We are seeking a Workplace Safety & Compliance Coordinator to support environmental, health, and safety initiatives within a manufacturing and fabrication environment. This hands-on position partners with employees and leadership to promote safe work practices, identify workplace hazards, assist with safety training, and help ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. This role requires regular time on the production floor, building strong relationships with employees, and contributing to a safe, efficient workplace.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Spend time throughout the production and fabrication areas observing daily operations
  • Identify potential hazards and recommend practical safety improvements
  • Encourage employees to follow established safety procedures
  • Help foster a positive workplace culture centered on safety and accountability
  • Conduct routine workplace inspections and safety observations
  • Document safety concerns and monitor corrective actions until resolved
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with company policies and applicable safety regulations
  • Recommend process improvements that reduce workplace risks
  • Aid in new employee safety orientation and onboarding
  • Support safety meetings, toolbox talks, and ongoing employee training
  • Provide daily guidance on safe work practices
  • Communicate safety expectations and company initiatives across departments
  • Assist with reporting workplace injuries, incidents, and near-miss events
  • Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Help develop corrective and preventive action plans
  • Verify corrective actions are completed and documented
  • Maintain safety records, inspection reports, training documentation, and compliance files
  • Support internal audits and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Aid in continuous improvement of safety programs and workplace procedures

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Risk Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field. Equivalent education and experience will also be considered
  • Two or more years of experience in workplace safety, EHS, manufacturing, industrial operations, or risk management preferred
  • Knowledge of workplace safety practices, hazard recognition, and incident investigation procedures
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively with employees, supervisors, and leadership across multiple departments
  • Professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, or similar credentials are preferred
